The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has handed over the terror attack on a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) vehicle carrying 15 personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sunjwan on April 22 to the National Investigation Agency. NIA), top government officials said on Thursday.
The NIA soon took over the matter when the anti-terror agency received an official order from the MHA asking it to probe the matter from all possible angles.
The NIA has re-registered the case which was initially being probed by the J&K Police.
The move comes within a week of the incident, hours after the attack took place at around 4.25 am on April 22, when the anti-terror agency was visited by 15 CISF personnel, who were on duty in the outer cordon. Chaddha camp and his relief team reached by bus.
The CISF then said in a statement, “All the CISF personnel came under heavy fire from the terrorists.
“CISF personnel immediately handled the situation and retaliated. During retaliation, the terrorists hurled grenades and managed to flee from the spot to the nearby residential area taking advantage of the darkness,” the CISF had said.
In the attack, Central Armed Police Forces said, CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector SP Patel laid down his life while undergoing treatment at the hospital, one personnel was seriously injured and six other personnel of the force retaliated valiantly against the terrorist attack. There were minor injuries while in action. ,
In the subsequent action, the security forces succeeded in eliminating the two terrorists responsible for the attack.
Two fidayeen (soul valley) terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed were present in the area.
The CISF had said that the terrorists were planning to target the security forces and innocent people. “If they had managed to cross the outer cordon (naka), the security forces could have suffered a great loss.”
Due to the brave response of the CISF personnel, a major fidayeen attack was not only averted, but the terrorists were eliminated and eliminated.
The CISF had then said that a total of three of its companies were deployed for law and order duties in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Narwal Police Station in Jammu city, a CISF company (No. 757) of 3rd Reserve Battalion was deployed to maintain law and order with the local police of Jammu.
Based on the inputs, the CISF said, “Some fidayeen terrorist organizations were planning a major attack in the Jammu region.”
Considering the inputs, it said that a joint search and search operation was being conducted in the area, in which Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police personnel were deployed for the internal cordon and search operation, while CISF personnel was deputed to Naka near Chaddha.
